Positive: Host was responsive & helpful via mssgs. and phone & she facilitated an earlier check -in. I didn't meet her. Spacious apartment. Within walking distance of central Parma and sights. Inside the property really lacks enough natural light. Designer /contemporary presentation comes into it's own at night via lighting also showing the beautiful brick ceiling. Tea & coffee & biscuits provided. Good facilities if you need to cook. ( I didn't.) Living room/ kitchen area comfortable. Between the bedroom and living room is a feature of a small open space thereby reducing the separateness of each room while not an issue for me it might be a problem if the sofa bed in living room is also used by guests. Could also be helpful if you have young children. The locality felt safe and quiet.
Negative: LACK OF NATURAL LIGHT. Outside was bright, blue sky and yet little light penetrated the apartment which is located on the ground floor at the back of the building looking onto a small court yard. The window curtains for privacy further reduce light. I understand the realities of older buildings but I have to be honest as I found the space to be oppressively dim requiring lights to be on during daylight hours. The photos presented on Booking .com are indeed eye catching internally, mostly showing images with the lights on. Ceramics in bathroom clean however I found the shower to be uninviting (mould) hence my rating. Internal doors show signs of 'wear and tear' (sorry, the technology of site won't upload the photos that support these observations.)
